I first found out about the University of Southampton through the internet. It is a highly ranked university and I simply fell in love with it when I visited the city and the University before applying. The atmosphere at the University is very friendly, you can always count on help if you need it.

I had always been interested in economics and banking systems so the course of Economics and Finance was the best choice for me. The Department of Economics is part of the Social Sciences School, which is one of the largest at the University, and the lecturers are very competent and organised.

I was absolutely amazed with the beauty of the parks in the city. Southampton is on the seaside so I didn't feel much like far away from home despite the different language. I felt a bit lost at the beginning but I settled down very quickly - my flatmates were great and very friendly and I met a lot of new, interesting people.
